Bonus Month!!!!! This month one of my IPSY items was a pair of face masks. So I got 6 new products. Yeah!
For those of you that are new to IPSY, it is a beauty bag subscription for only $10 a month. Each month they send you 5 products, both full size and deluxe samples, personalized to you based on how your filled out their makeup survey. It’s a really great way to build your makeup arsenal and try new brands/products for really cheap. From  my experience the bags’ average retail value is about $55. Plus, every month they send your products in a (usually) cute makeup bag. Want to join the club? Sign up here.

This months theme was Volume Up and I love the bag, that is a great example of ‘loud’ (pun intended) makeup.

NYX Lip and Cheek Soufflé in Plush-

I was really excited to try this product until I pulled out the wand. It was so thick and gooey looking I thought it would be really greasy and heavy on my face. Thankfully I was wrong. Great for adding some color to any summer look, this blush stand-in is super light and works both on bare skin and over liquid or cream foundation. You can add a second coat for more color, but you will never get a super vibrant look. I think the intensity is just right for summer though. I don’t think the color is at all flattering on my lips but otherwise it would make for a super easy monochrome look. If you’re interested buy soon. Ulta is having a buy one get the second one 1/2 off deal, but don’t trust the colors online, they are not at all accurate. - $5.99

Make Up For Ever Aqua XL eye pencil in Matte Black -

I was kind of disappointed to get another black eyeliner (is this number 10 or 11?). These pencils come in a lot of fun colors and when I saw the package I really was hoping for a navy or teal. Aside from the color though, this pencil is a winner. I believe pencil liners are one thing you should spend a little extra on. The higher end ones (around $20) are so soft and glide on really easily yet are still long lasting and in the case this one and my favorite waterproof  - $10.50

Margaret Dabbs Treatment-Enriched Nail Polish -

What a fun color! All you who know me, know that it’s right up my alley. Plus it doesn’t have any harsh chemicals and has Vitamin E and Wild Rose Botanical Extract to strengthen and protect your nails. It says it is rose scented, but to be honest, I think it stinks. I was also disappointed at how fast this polish chipped, on day one!!! On a lighter note, it’s in a really cute bottle. - $17.83

City Color Bold Brow Eyebrow powder in medium/light -

After I saw the price, I was surprised how much I liked this duo. Not to be a snob, but I’ve had a lot of cheap makeup misses. I love how using both colors adds dimension to my eyebrows and also how quick it is to apply. I have pretty full eyebrows and just like to add a little definition so powder works fine for me. However, if you have really sparse or light brows this will not give you the precision and impact of a pencil. Unless you have really dark eyebrows, I would stick to this set. They apply darker than you would think. - $3.99 (for the full size; the one I received was about 3/4 of the weight)

BioRepublic Skin Care Sheet Masks (Green Tea detox and Aloe Rescue healing-

I love sheet masks. They are so easy and mess free. So far I have only tried the Green Tea one (I hoard my masks so it might be a while before I try the Aloe Rescue one) and my expectations were not disappointed. It conditioned and softened my skin while soothing the itchy, dry skin around my nose and jaw. Really gentle with great results. As a bonus it is paraben and sulfate free. Yeah!! - $4.99 each

Total Retail Value: ~$48 + shipping

Although a great value for only $10, I was a little disappointed in my June glam bag. I was only really loved the NYX lip and cheek color and the brow powder. Not that the other stuff wasn’t great, I just don’t need another black eyeliner and the nail polish didn’t last super well. I guess the face masks were nice, but this definitely hasn’t been my favorite bag. Maybe I should retake the survey and update my preferences.

I LOVED the bag this month though. It’s made of durable fabric and the workmanship is much nicer than last month’s. That is one of my favorite parts of the subscription, all the makeup bags. They are so handy for vacation and traveling and are convenient sizes.
