How many of you have ever wanted to make your lips look bigger? Maybe you have heard the only way to increase your lips size is by injections… painful, expensive injections.

While that may be the only way to technically plump your pout, there are a couple things you can do to subtly enhance it. With just a few simple makeup products and armed with the tips I am going to share with you, worrying about thin lips will be a thing of the past.

Start by evaluating your lips, this won’t be a daily step but it’s helpful to personalize this routine to your lips so take a quick look in the mirror and see what you want to change about your lips. Go beyond, I want my lips to look fuller. For example, my bottom lip isn’t really that thin, so I’m going to spend most of my time on my top lip, and more specifically on the outer corners. You might want to even up asymmetrical lips or make your mouth a little wider.

Now that you have your goal in mind, line your lips with a clear or nude lip liner. Use short strokes working your way from the outside in. To make your lips look fuller line your lips on or just outside the ridge of your lips. Don’t go too far past this line as it will look sloppy and fake. This is one of the most important parts of the process so take your time here. When you’re done, check to make sure both sides are even.

Now comes the fun part, adding color!

Contrary to popular opinion us thin lipped ladies don’t have to stick strictly to nudes and light pink. While it is a good idea to skip super dark colors, if red lips are your thing, go for it. Following these steps will help you rock whatever color you like. The thing to keep in mind when choosing a lipstick, isn’t the shade, it’s the finish. Satin and glossy formulas will be much more flattering here.

To finish strong…

layer a lip gloss over your lips. This last step is certainly optional, but I find it adds just a touch more plumpness to my lips, and adds glamour to my overall look.

I like to use Buxom full on lip cream’s for this (shown here is ‘Dolly’). It’s light, NOT STICKY!, and has a tingle feeling that invigorates your lips. Since the lip creams have some color you could even skip the previous step and just wear them over your liner.

The best part about these tips to make your lips look bigger, are that they are quick enough to do everyday.

Some so-called makeup hacks are great for getting the perfect nose contour or super long wear makeup (jamsu anyone?) but they are so time consuming they just aren’t practical for real life. Start with your medium contour shade, once you’ve applied and blended that, add a layer of darker bronzer on the sides and tip of the nose, using a matte highlighter carve out the sides of your nose and and accent the bridge of your nose, then take your shimmer and…. ain’t nobody got time for that!

Now that you know how to make the most of what your mama gave you, you can rock your look and your life. Remember to live your life with color and vibrancy! You are beautiful and unique.
